Jonathan C. Hersch, M.D., F.A.A.O.S.

Graduated cum laude from Duke University and completed his medical training at New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and orthopaedic residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Hersch received advanced fellowship training in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
There he served as assistant team physician for the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland State University and provided medical coverage for the 2000 State Farm United States Figure Skating Championship.
Prior to joining Orthopaedic Associates USA, Dr. Hersch served as Director of Sports Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. There he was directly involved with the training of residents and medical students. Dr. Hersch was the Head Team Physician at LaSalle University (NCAA), and several local high schools. In addition, he was the medical director for the 2001 Maccabi games held in Philadelphia.
Dr.Hersch specializes in sports medicine, and arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee, ankle and elbow including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder stabilization, and arthroscopic ACL reconstruction. Dr. Hersch also has a special interest in treating arthritic conditions of the shoulder and knee and performs shoulder replacements. In addition, Dr. Hersch specializes in cartilage restoration and transplantation.
Dr. Hersch currently serves as head team physician for St. Thomas University and Coral Springs Charter High School. He is a member of the ATP medical committee and serves as the Medical Director of the International Tennis Championships in Delray Beach and the ATP BMW Championships in Sunrise.
Dr. Hersch is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Hersch is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has authored many articles in peer reviewed journals and recently completed a textbook chapter on shoulder arthroplasty to be published this year. Dr. Hersch has presented scientific papers at national orthopaedic meetings and has been an instructor at orthopaedic surgery courses.
In his spare time he is an avid tennis player, golfer and cyclist. Jonathan C. Hersch, M.D. is available to see patients at the Plantation office and the Miami Lakes Office.
